The Clean Plate Campaign is a food waste awareness initiative by Food from the Heart. Members of the public are encouraged to take the pledge to stop food waste. From now till 31 October, every pledge taken will raise $5. Funds raised go towards feeding the needy.

The organisers hope to get 15,000 pledges, thus raising $75,000. This fundraiser is sponsored by NTUC FairPrice Foundation.

The Clean Plate Pledge

The Clean Plate Pledge

As a food charity, Food from the Heart seeks to change the social landscape of food in Singapore by redistributing food to the needy. The Clean Plate Campaign goes beyond the straightforward rounding up of funds and food donations for the needy as it advocates for a habit change.

With each pledge, participants will pledge to reduce food waste, acknowledge that food is precious and pledge that if they have more food than they can finish, they will prevent it from being wasted by saving it in a safe manner for when they are ready to eat again, or by sharing it with someone else. The pledge takers will also pledge to be mindful of the portion sizes of their food and pay attention to what feels satisfying, and what is too much.

Members who take this pledge can also help raise awareness on social media by posting pictures of their clean plates, thus encouraging others to be mindful of their eating habits.
