It operates from 10 am to 10 pm daily from 6 August 2025 to 24 January 2026. This “first” opens another chapter for National Library Board (NLB)’s 30th Anniversary celebrations as a pop-up library collaboration with Disney and with support from Changi Airport Group.

Constellation of Star Wars Books

The collection features stories from one of pop culture’s most enduring franchises, since Star Wars’ origins in 1977, catering to readers of all ages, from young Padawans to Jedi Masters.

Upon entering the compact space, we are greeted with two main sections of both physical and digital offerings, the former graced with lightsabers displayed as trophies of might and power.

Catering to adults and children across all ages, the pop-up features a physical collection of over 2,000 Star Wars and inspired literature, novels, graphic novels, comics, essays, art books, early literacy books for toddlers and even cookbooks!

The collection includes 380 unique titles specially curated by NLB librarians, includes series such as Star Wars: Darth Vader comic series; Star Wars: The Mandalorian: The Manga series; Star Wars: The High Republic junior novel series; the Thrawn: Ascendancy trilogy novels, and more.

Robots at Work

Robots at Work

An automated book retrieval and return system is a really nifty new pilot service at the Star Wars Pop-Up Library.

Besides the rows of physical books on display, another section offers patrons the additional option of selecting up to three titles through a touch-screen kiosk, following which the robot with an extendable arm would move to locate and transport the selected books to the collection point at the same kiosk for easy pickup!

We tried it out and having a droid-er-machine with a robotic arm retrieve a book of our choice from an enclosed glass section of the library made our day.

The robots also handle book returns and shelving operations. This enables the Star Wars Pop-up Library to offer a book return service for books borrowed from this location and to function autonomously. However, it can only process the return of books borrowed from the Star Wars Pop-up Library.

Alternatively, the books from the Star Wars Pop-up Library can be returned to any NLB library in Singapore as with all library book loans.

Test Your Star Wars Knowledge

Test Your Star Wars Knowledge

Not limited to books, patrons can immerse themselves a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away through additional activities within the pop-up library’s interactive zones.

Game on? Test your Star Wars knowledge through a trivia challenge or take a personality quiz to discover which Jedi you would most resemble, alongside recommended reads.

Digital screens projecting iconic backdrops of different worlds in the Star Wars galaxy further provide photo opportunities for fans.

To enter the library, use the Force or scan a library-compliant ID card, NLB eCard or request for a QR code day pass with a Singapore-registered mobile number or e-mail via this link.

To borrow the tiles of this collection, scan the QR codes on each book cover via the NLB Mobile app, available on both Google Play and Apple’s App Store, then visitors with books in hand would be able to exit through the library’s portal.
