If you love visiting Japan, how does a fully sponsored trip with an itinerary co-created together with JAPAN by Japan, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Singapore Office’s official community website, sound to you?
JNTO has announced that it will be sponsoring three trips to some of Japan’s major destinations and hidden gems through JAPAN by Japan. Included in the trip are expenses such as air tickets, accommodation and food.
Fully Sponsored Trips to Japan by JAPAN by Japan: Celebrate a Birthday
The trips will cover three different routes – Hokkaido, Hiroshima and San’in, and Kyushu.
The overall theme of the trips is to celebrate a loved one’s birthday in Japan, and participants get to create an itinerary for themselves based on this theme.
Applicants residing in Singapore may apply for these sponsored trips – but there’s a catch.
Participants and their companions must also be agreeable to have their pictures and videos taken by the accompanying JAPAN by Japan staff and photographer / videographer throughout the trip.
These photographs and videos will be used for various purposes, including social media, advertisements and other materials to help promote Japan as the ideal tourist destination.
Trip to Hokkaido in September: Designed for Families
The first tour will be held from 3 to 8 September 2023.
Taking place during the Singapore September school holidays, the trip will be for a family of up to four with up to two children of age 11 and above.
The trip will take the family to the northern island of Hokkaido where they can immerse themselves in the vibrant and lush surroundings offered by this natural paradise.
Participants of the tour will visit highly recommended locations such as Kushiro, Furano, Sapporo and Chitose for outdoor experiences and an exploration of the region’s rich cultural cuisine.
Hiroshima and San’in Route in November: For Couples
In November, a second tour will be organised for a lucky couple to explore the historic valley of Hiroshima and San’in.
Participants can enjoy intimate activities such as creating unique rings at Izumo – one of Japan’s most sacred spots – to soaking in the scenery of the picturesque Seto Inland Sea.
Other locations featured in the tour include Iwami-Ginzan, Onomichi and Fukuyama.
This tour of the southwest is the perfect gateway for couples looking to steep themselves in the deep cultural roots of historical Japan. More details will be revealed in the future.
Details for the third trip to Kyushu will be shared at a later date.
How to Apply
For those who are interested in the sponsored trip can apply from now till 18 June 2023.
To do so, applicants must be a JAPAN by Japan member and create a three-minute video on why they would like to go on the trip. There is also an application form and shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an online or in-person interview.
