Head to the treasured parks in the city from 19 to 27 July for Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival 2025. Visitors can participate in activities and immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Singapore’s UNESCO World Heritage site with light installations, an activity trail, concerts and more.

This year’s Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival is particularly significant because it marks the 10th anniversary of the Garden’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 150th anniversary of the Singapore Herbarium and the Singapore Botanic Gardens Library of Botany and Horticulture, and the 30th anniversary of the National Orchid Garden.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens has been a sanctuary where nature, science, and culture converge. EnlighTEN @ Singapore Botanic Gardens invites you to journey through moments of history and growth gently revealed in light—stories of perseverance, discovery, and hope. You can explore each location along the trail to experience the Gardens’ enduring legacy.

The light installations can be found at:

  • Tanglin Gate
  • Swan Lake
  • Bandstand
  • Clock Tower @ Orchid Plaza
  • Palm Court

Light Show at Singapore Botanic Gardens

The Tanglin Gate installation is First Light, a light show that pays homage the living legacy of the Gardens. 

A Garden's Reflection

A Garden’s Reflection is a light show that traces the Garden’s history. The six-minute-long Swan Lake light show will be screened daily from 19 July to 10 August at 7.30 pm, 7.50 pm, 8.10 pm, 8.30 pm, 8.50 pm, 9.10 pm, 9.30 pm and 9.50 pm.

Rain Tree Radiance

At the Bandstand is Rain Tree Radiance, an installation designed by the Garden’s own staff. 

Time's Quiet Pulse

Time’s Quiet Pulse is a contemplative work at the Clock Tower at Orchid Plaza.

Canopy of Wonder

Palm Court is light up with a light installation called Canopy of Wonder.

Singapore Botanic Garden Discovery Passport

Singapore Botanic Garden Discovery Passport  

Take part in a free, drop-in activity at the Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival 2025. Pick up a Discovery Passport at the Visitor Services Counters and collect commemorative stamps featuring iconic landmarks such as the Bandstand, Learning Forest, and Swan Lake. Each stamp tells a unique story, showcasing key moments, iconic landscapes, and cultural and heritage sites within the Gardens.

There are a total of 10 stations nestled amongst 10 trails throughout the Gardens. Just a quick note that the trails may require some time to complete.

First, choose your trail based on area. For instance the Classic Trail takes you through Tanglin Gate, Swan Lake and Heritage Garden. Turn to the trail’s page in the passport, explore the area then collect your stamp at the stamping station.

Collect all 10 embossed stamps and receive an exclusive Heritage Pin. This interactive experience lets visitors of all ages explore and learn while creating their own meaningful souvenir.

It takes an estimated 2 to 3 hours to collect all 10 stamps. For families with elderly or young children, it is best to complete the discovery passport in 2 to 3 visits.

Why collect all 10 stamps? You can receive a beautiful pin of the iconic Tanglin gate for keepers plus learn about interesting tidbits about Singapore Botanic Gardens.

If you are having trouble finding the stamping stations, you can locate them by scanning the QR code found on the last page of the Discovery Passport

"Prisoner-of-War Brick Steps"

For instance, did you know that near the Plant House is where you can find “Prisoner-of-War Brick Steps”? The arrows were carved by Australian POWs as a form of silent protest during the Japanese Occupation. 

Collecting stamps also lead seekers to other interesting spots and iconic places in Singapore Botanic Gardens. 

The Singapore Botanic Gardens Discovery Passport is available for free at the Visitor Services Counters located at the Bukit Timah, Gallop, Nassim, Tanglin, and Tyersall entrances.

Do come prepared to sweat, bring plenty of water, your hat and umbrella for a comfortable walk or jog from station to station.

Enjoy a night filled with music as NovoBloco takes to the stage with the vibrant rhythms of Afro-Brazilian music. With powerful percussion, soaring melodies, and spirited dance, their performance captures the soul of Brazilian Carnaval and brings it to life in the heart of Singapore.

Sunset Serenades with Resound Collective Wind Quintet

Resound Collective Wind Quintet makes its debut at the iconic Bandstand in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, offering an enchanting evening amid lush greenery. Enjoy a captivating programme featuring specially arranged Singaporean favourites such as Bunga Sayang and Home, alongside classical gems including Debussy’s Cake Walk and Ravel’s Fairy Garden.

25 July, 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm, Bandstand


Groove at Gallop! with Jazz Association (Singapore)

Led by Assistant Executive Director and Deputy Music Director Chok Kerong on piano, the ensemble for this performance features the smooth vocals of Sneha Menon, saxophonist Timothy Leow, bassist Ben Poh, and drummer Tristan Seow. Together, they will present fresh, jazz-infused interpretations of beloved classics such as Getaran Jiwa, Bunga Sayang, and Bengawan Solo.

VIVA Fiesta: Cosmos ‘25

VIVA Fiesta: Cosmos ’25, VIVA’s annual hallmark concert will feature performances by accomplished singers, alongside talented young musicians from St Joseph’s Institution. The concert aims to raise awareness of VIVA’s mission and work in support of children with cancer. It will be held at the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage, Singapore Botanic Gardens, on 26 July 2025 with fringe activities from 4.30 pm. Get more details about this concert.

Gallop Extension Tour

Gallop Extension Tour

Go on a guided walk through the Gallop Extension of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The tour begins at the Visitor Centre at Gallop and takes you through the OCBC Arboretum where you can view the dipterocarp collection. You will also experience the Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge, Forest Discovery Centre @ OCBC Arboretum and the Botanical Art Gallery. Registration is required

SBG Night Tour

Experience the enchanting beauty of the Singapore Botanic Gardens from a different perspective with our evening Heritage Trail. knowledgeable guides will take you on a journey through the Gardens’ more than 160-year history, pointing out highlights such as the Bandstand, the famous $5 Tembusu Tree, and the stunning orchid, Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim. Registration required.

Heritage Tour

Heritage Tour

Go on a walk through the Heritage Core of the Gardens will evoke memories of bygone days when ladies strolled through the Gardens with parasols and long skirts. Highlights of the tour include the Bandstand, various sculptures, Heritage Trees, the Main Gate, and Saraca Stream Walk. Registration required

Race Against Time

Learn about the research facilities at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, including the Library of Botany & Horticulture, the Micropropagation Laboratory, and the Herbarium. A highlight of this tour is a visit to the Herbarium, where physical records of reference plant materials are stored, some dating as far back as 1790. In addition, learn about the hybridisation programme for orchids, a process introduced back in 1930’s by the then Director, R.E Holttum. Registration required.

Movie Screenings

Look out for movie screenings at the Eco-Lake Lawn from 7.30 pm onwards on selected dates during the Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival 2025. These include:

Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) Orchid Show – 19 to 27 July

Coinciding with the Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival 2025 is the Singapore Garden Festival Orchid Show. The SGF Orchid Show will be held at the National Orchid Garden.

The main highlight will be an orchid competition featuring entries by dedicated hobbyists and professional growers. Visitors can also marvel at exquisite displays at the Orchid Plaza and visit the MarketPlace along Maranta Avenue, both located near the entrance to the National Orchid Garden.

What’s more, Singapore residents enjoy free entry to the National Orchid Garden from 19 to 27 July.
