Haven’t been able to find the time to pay a visit to the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay to view the cherry blossoms? Good news. The Sakura Featuring Hello Kitty floral display has been extended till 11 April 2021.
Extended Sakura Season at Gardens by the Bay extended till 11 April 2021
Normally, the sakura season at Gardens by the Bay lasts for around three weeks due to the nature of the cherry blossoms, which are notorious for their short blooms. However, this time around, by a stroke of fortune, Gardens by the Bay is able to extend the much-loved floral display because of a shipping delay.
A shipment of cherry blossom trees from Europe did not arrive in Singapore on time due to disruptions in the shipping industry. Thus, when the Sakura Featuring Hello Kitty floral display opened on 1 March 2021, only specialty sakura from Japan, which had arrived on schedule, were put on display.
New Cherry Blossom Trees from Europe
With the recent arrival of the trees from Europe, Gardens by the Bay is incorporating them into the floral display to extend Sakura Featuring Hello Kitty by another three weeks till 11 April 2021.
In a recent Facebook post, Gardens by the Bay even provided a behind the scenes look at the arrival of the trees from Europe and how they were being installed at the Flower Field.
Those who wish to pay a visit can check Gardens by the Bay’s Facebook and Telegram channel for updates on the cherry blossom trees’ state of blooming.
Take note that those planning to visit the Flower Dome are required to pre-book their timed-entry tickets online from the Gardens by the Bay website or mobile app.
