Ever wanted to rent a bike to explore Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park? Or to follow the path of the Kallang River to Marina Bay? It is now possible to do so because there is a GoCycling outlet at Ang Mo Kio.
Bike rental shops in Singapore can mostly be found at the coastal parks such as East Coast Park and Pasir Ris Park. There are few bike rental outlets in the centre of the island.
However, that has changed as bike rental company GoCycling opened an Ang Mo Kio outlet in July this year.
GoCycling @ Ang Mo Kio: Bike Rental at Teck Ghee Community Club
The GoCycling @ Ang Mo Kio outlet is located at Teck Ghee Community Club. This may seem a bit odd as it isn’t in a park, but it is within a short distance of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. More accurately, it is about 500 metres away from the Eastern edge of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.
The bike rental shop is located within Teck Ghee Community Club. However, it also does have a side gate so that renters need not push the bikes through the club to exit.
From the Community Club, it is down a ramp to Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 before heading south, past Ren Ci nursing home, to reach the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Bishan Road. This is quite a large junction and renters would have to make their way across it to reach Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

It makes sense to explore Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park on two wheels, since it is quite a large park.
From Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, cyclists can also make their way along the Kallang River towards Marina Bay. There is a GoCycling outlet at Singapore Flyer where arrangements can be made in advance for the bikes to be returned too.
This is not the first time that GoCycling has located its bike rental outlet on the fringe of a park. Its outlet at Jurong Lake Gardens is a distance away from the park.
