Blind boxes are all the rage now, with popular toys such as Labubu and Crybaby leading the trend. The excitement of not knowing what you will get every time a box is opened is the highlight of it all, aside from having cute toys to put on display.

Local family entertainment company Evo Amusement has taken this trend and created a twist, incorporating cute desserts and blind boxes into a totally new F&B concept in Singapore.

Nana and Friends are reinventing the idea of blind boxes. Instead of arriving in a package, the surprise is revealed when you order a Bingsu dessert.

Once the collection vending machine calls your order number, press on the glowing heart button below to unveil your bingsu and the secret plushie pal, as music and a cute animation of Nana & Friends plays in the background.

The plushie pal comes with a keyring, allowing you to attach your new friend anywhere, even as a bag charm.

The key highlight item on the menu is the Bingsu ($18). It comes in 6 different flavours, such as Matcha, Mango, Pineapple, Strawberry, Chocolate Caramel and Jiuxian. This Korean shaved ice dessert is served with a twist, as it comes with a generous layer of delicious creamy cheese foam on top, with various toppings and a randomised Nana, Fluff or Moogie character pudding, adding on to the element of surprise. It is served in a glass cylinder, which you can lift up to watch the bingsu and cheese foam flow out.

We were able to try out the Bingsu as well as the wide variety of desserts offered on their menu. We ordered the matcha flavour, and it came generously topped with matcha powder.

The mochi topping was exceptionally soft and chewy, adding to the texture of the dessert. We got a pink character pudding in the shape of the character Fluff that was too cute to eat.

Mochi waffles are also available to order, with series of interesting spreads to choose from, such as Pistachio praline, Biscoff, Cream Cheese, Hazelnut Praline, Peanut or Matcha. We tried the pistachio praline, which was said to have a taste reminiscent of the viral Dubai chocolate. The mochi waffle was definitely chewy and not too sweet, and it had an even spread of pistachio filling, which tasted delicious.

They also serve a wide variety of tarts and quiches. The mini tarts come in flavours available on a rotational basis. Some highlights include the Dark chocolate, Pistachio Raspberry, Peanut Butter Coffee and Earl Grey Lime tarts. The quiches include flavours such as salmon and spinach, chicken, seafood and mushroom.
