Without much fanfare, McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy has made a return after disappearing for almost two decades. The special item was only available from 1998 to 2002. Now, it has reappeared at selected McDonald’s Singapore outlets.
Return of McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy to Singapore
Facebook group Singapore Atrium Sale first brought the return of McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy to light.
On McDonald’s Singapore’s Facebook page, in response to a customer query, the chain said, “We are always looking for ways to excite our customers with new menu items and have started a trial of introducing Chicken McCrispy at selected stores. The Chicken McCrispy is currently only available for a limited time and at limited stores, but we will consider bringing this back and possibly islandwide based on customer feedback.”
That probably just makes the Chicken McCrispy even more desirable.
Where to Find McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy
In case you are wondering where you can find this legendary chicken menu item, the outlets where the Chicken McCrispy is currently available are Parkway Parade, Northpoint City, Serangoon Ave 3, Bedok Mall, Geylang East Central, Regal, Keat Hong, Trade Hub 21, Hougang Mall, Parkway Parade and Boat Quay.
McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy is available as either a two-piece or in a six-piece bucket.
The chicken comes as either a drumstick or a wing portion (with only the drumlet bone). If you order the six-piece bucket, you get three pieces of each.
Taste Test
It comes in a golden breaded crust. That settles the crispy bit. The Chicken McCrispy is described as “Mildly Spicy”. However, we found it to be a bit more spicy than the McSpicy patty.
Those who remember having McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy in their younger days will be happy that it is back and will probably want to seek it out. Especially since it is just here for a limited time only.
