The LEGO Friends 41743 Hair Salon set comes with 401 pieces and three mini figures (Olly, Paisley and Nadia).
Before we construct the main hair salon building, there are two side builds – a garden bench and an electric scooter parking area.
Olly, one of the mini figures, travels around in a pink e-scooter, which challenges gender stereotypes by showcasing that boys can enjoy the colour pink as well.
Playing with the Imagination with LEGO Friends Hair Salon
The main salon build comes with a main entrance, flanked by styling chairs on both sides of the salon. On the left side of the salon, there is a sink and reclining chair, where I presume the mini dolls will do their hair washing here.
A pair of wig stands is also provided at the side allowing free play on the hair do options. On the right side, there is a styling chair that can be rotated 360 degrees, attached to a hooded hair dryer. The use of stickers adds details to the salon, adding realistic touches.
This salon features an open and airy design, featuring floor to ceiling glass walls on both sides of the building and a curved glass roof.
I could imagine the customers enjoying the people watching while getting their hair done.
There is also a hidden roof garden above the entrance, with a giant scissors as the main sign of the shop. Outside the salon, there is a cute gumball machine, an enticing treat for the little ones!
Once all the accessories are in place, the salon truly comes to life. After building the salon model, the possibilities for customising the mini dolls are endless, providing a fun and creative activity for young kids to enjoy. This easy-to-build set promises an afternoon of imaginative play.
