It is said that necessity is the mother of invention and this was definitely the case for one mother who created her brand PenguinLada and its Busyboard product for her young son.

Busyboards: Playing Parts That Encourage Kids to Play and Explore

Busyboards: Playing Parts to Encourage Kids to Play and Explore

Busyboards are little boards with different play elements bolted on. They give little ones something to fiddle around with and to explore with their hands. You could almost think of them like fidget spinners for little kids. In fact, one of the boards even has an actual fidget spinner mounted on it.

What makes PenguinLada’s Busyboards stand out are that the playing parts are made up of common everyday household items. These include parts like door chains and latches as well as baking timers and even telephones.

These sort of playing parts are in the style of Montessori play where kids get to become accustomed to everyday objects.

The playing parts are mounted on to solid wooden boards which are hinged together. This can be set up like a tent on the floor for young kids to play with.

Each board has between 12 and 50 playing parts, depending on the product.

Starry Starry Home

The largest item in the series is a Starry Starry Home which can be lit up from the inside for an added element of charm.
