One of the main features of the dry section of the playground is a large blue climbing structure, similar to the one that can be found at Coastal PlayGrove at East Coast Park

The blue frame houses a set of climbing nets that spans two levels. These are more suitable for older kids.

Kids can ascend from the lower level and make their way to the higher level where vortex of cargo nets provides a more vertical climbing challenge.

Lower Play area

For kids who may want a less daunting challenge, there is a lower play area just beside the blue climbing frame. This consists of a low mound with terraces on one side that kids can climb up on.

Orange structures extending from the top of the mound look like they have been inspired by mangrove roots. The orange structure also hold up a net that kids can climb and play on.

There are also low blue slides for kids to slide down on. They can also have an adventure ducking through the tunnel that runs through the play mound.

There are several other play features at the dry section of the Toa Payoh Central Playground.

Swings are an evergreen favourite and even adults may find themselves gravitating towards the swings at the playground.

A parent-child see saw offers a bit of fun for families.

There is also a seated merry-go-round.

Masts

Another interesting play element at the Toa Payoh Central Playground are three masts with a hand cranked wheel at the base. Spin the hand wheel and a series of lights makes its way upwards towards the top of the mast. With the three masts lined up side by side, we can imagine kids racing to see who can reach the top fastest.

Want to get even more competitive? There is also a pair of Speed Racer bikes at the playground.

Kids who wish to cool down on hot days can also make their way to the water playground or splash pad on the opposite side from the dry play area.

The water play area consists of jets of water spraying out from the side and little water fountains sprouting up from the floor of the splash pad.

A transparent green canopy offers a little bit of shade for kids as they play in the water. Compared to the water play area at Play @ Heights Park, this Toa Payoh water play area is much simpler. However, it still offers kids a spot to have some fun.

There is also a hut nearby with shower facilities for kids to rinse down after they have finished playing.
