Let’s get the obvious out of the way first. The Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery is not on Sisters’ Islands. It is located on St John’s Island.
Sisters’ Islands Marine Park
The Sisters’ Islands were officially launched as Singapore’s first marine park in 2015. This protects the coral reefs around Sisters Islands and animals such as the endangered seahorses that live in those waters.
As there are no regular ferry services to Sisters’ Island, the best way to learn about the marine life around Sisters’ Island is to join a guided walk organised by the National Parks Board or a dive trail. Those who are unable to do so but still interested in Sisters’ Island’s habitats can learn more about the Marine Park at the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery on St John’s Island.
Gallery To Reach Out To The Public
The Public Gallery on St John’s Island was established to complement the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park’s outreach programmes. It is located amongst the cluster of research buildings at the Marine Park Outreach and Education Centre on St John’s Island.

By the entrance of the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery is a live fish viewing tank.
Stepping inside the air-conditioned Public Gallery, visitors can view displays that provide information about the marine life that can be found at Sisters’ Island.
Amongst the exhibits are displays of coral, or at least their calcium carbonate skeletons, which visitors can pick up and handle.
At the rear of the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery are aquarium tanks and a viewing pool which contain marine animals such as sea cucumbers and anemones.
The Public Gallery is a rather small facility. Our recommendation to get the most from a visit is to have a chat with the staff present at the Public Gallery – be inquisitive and ask questions. The friendly staff are able to provide much “colour” and insight to the exhibits on display.
How to Get to Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery
To get to the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery, follow the marked footpath directly ahead of the St John’s Island public jetty. The footpath will lead up a hill.
Keep following it, past various research buildings until you arrive at the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park Public Gallery.
The Public Gallery is a 10- to 15-minute walk from the jetty.

Opening Hours:
10 am to 2.30 pm on weekdays, 10 am to 3.30 pm on Saturdays and 10 am to 5.30 pm on Sundays and Public Holidays.
