The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall at Balestier is hosting the annual Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival on 7 and 8 September 2019. Visitors can look forward to lantern-making workshops, storytelling sessions, performances and tours. Be sure to stay around till after dark to view the glow-in-the-dark “Moonflowers of Mid-Autumn” installation that transforms the front lawn of the historic mansion into an ethereal wonderland. Head down to Chinatown for the Mid Autumn Festival 2019 in Singapore. The streets of Chinatown will be lit up by lanterns inspired by the story of Singapore over the last 200 years. The 15th edition of Moonfest at Esplanade invites everyone to discover the beauty of the traditional Chinese arts. Look out for Taishan Shadow Puppetry performances, nostalgic street opera and Chinese crosstalk. There will be ticketed Parent-Child workshops where kids can engage in various activities such as shadow puppetry, Shaolin martial arts, and even learn how to play the hulusi, a traditional Chinese folk instrument.
