When taking the family out for a meal with kids, it can be handy to head to a family-friendly dining spot, and it is especially a bonus when the restaurant has something to entertain the kids – just like the Marche 313 @ Somerset playground.

Marche 313 @ Somerset, like other Marche outlets around Singapore, is a restaurant inspired by market kitchens and with a Swiss sensibility. Located in the basement of the Orchard Road shopping mall, March 313 @ Somerset was recently renovated in July 2025.

The restaurant, famous for its rosti, now feels brighter, more open, and more contemporary. What that means is that some of the old kitsch decorations, such as the sheep that used to line the stairs leading down to the basement level, have gone.
The decor now features large “windows” that feature an alpine landscape.
One of the plus points of the revamp is that the Marche 313 @ Somerset playground has also been revamped and the children’s area is now called “Seedlings’ Paradise”.
Inside Seedlings’ Paradise
The Marche 313 @ Somerset children’s play area can be found close to the payment counters / exit of the restaurant.
The playground is located inside its own section, together with some tables and seating.
Designed for children from 3 to 5 years old, the play area has several different sections.
Right at the front of the play area, there is a colourful, low, wobbly bridge. Kids can hold on to the hand rails and make their way across from one side to the other.
At the rear of the play area, there is a raised wooden platform. Kids can get to the top of the platform either using the ramp with hand and foot holds, or take the gently sloped ladder.
A bright green slide breaks from the wood decor and provides kids with a fun way to play.
Kids can also venture into a little wooden “hut”. In front of the hut, they will be distracted by the colourful rocker toys that they can use to have some back-and-forth fun.
When ready, they can take the stairs to venture into the wooden hut, or make the way into the crawl space underneath. Little square windows provide a quaint way for kids to peek out from the hut into the world outside.
There is also a fireman’s pole for kids to use to slip back down from the second floor.
Play Area Rules
There are several rules to take note of when using the Marche 313 @ Somerset play area.
Firstly, take note that is is only for children from ages 3 to 5 years old. Parents and care givers need to look after their children at all times during play. Parents and care givers should also make sure that there is no climbing on fixtures, and that there is no rough or dangerous play.
Shoes do need to be taken off in order to enter into the play area.
Food and drinks are also not allowed into the play area, and neither are balloons allowed into the play area.
