Upon entering into the Flower Dome, the first sight that greets visitors is a representation of St. Mark’s Square. Most prominent is St Mark’s Campanile, the bell tower of St. Mark’s Basilica, the tallest structure in Venice.

This is a good spot to take a photo.

It is an explosion of colour with lilies of all different hues and shapes brightening up the Flower Field.

At the front of the display, there is a gondola floating on a river of flowers as if on the Grand Canal.

You can even make your way up and across the bridge to enter into a recreation of the narrow streets of Venice. This is apt as Venice is along know as the City of Bridges with approximately 435 stone bridges linking up the tiny islands that collectively make up the city.

As you make your way along the city streets, take a moment to appreciate the small details such as the signboards pointing the way to San Marco and the Rialto, and the signboards with menus outside the restaurant facades.

Photo Spots

Photo Spots

There are plenty of different photo spots scattered throughout Lilytopia.

The famous Carnival, held in February in Venice, is represented by a corridor of masks.

There is also a recreation of an Italian grandmother’s kitchen as well as pizza oven to provide the backdrop for memorable photos.

Lilies

These are all beautifully decorated by lilies of different shapes and sizes. In total, over 50 varieties of lilies are on display at Lilytopia.

More than 20 varieties lilies on display this year were cultivated in-house by Gardens by the Bay’s horticulturists. The is the first time that the lilies were mass cultivated in Gardens by the Bay from bulbs.

Amongst the lilies that lend their colour to the display are the pink blooms of the Lilium ‘Mikaela’, flecked with magenta and edged in light pink to white. There are also the large and vibrant Lilium ‘Caddy’, instantly recognisable by their deep orange colour.

Do take a moment to also appreciate the scent of the lilies as you walk through Lilytopia.

The tapestry of lilies is complemented by other colourful blooms, including sweeping blankets of hydrangeas, calla lilies, and cannas.
