Character café Kumoya is opening a second outlet at Orchard Central on 29 August 2020! If you’ve enjoyed the last few popups in its 8 Jalan Klapa location, you can look forward into stepping into this bigger outlet with its same fun vibe and super cute décor and food designs, this time featuring the adorable Rilakkuma and friends.

The new Kumoya@Orchard Central is bigger than its first location. At 2000 square feet, it will also better lighting to get those pictures for the ‘gram and a view that overlooks the Orchard Road shopping district.
The new Kumoya café will also have an exclusive private room which you can book for special occasions.
Kumoya’s Orchard Central Will Open with Rilakkuma -The Relax Café
One reason we enjoy going to Kumoya is for its unique themes.
Kumoya@Orchard Central’s “Rilakkuma -The Relax Café” will be the first semi-permanent San-X characters pop-up café in South East Asia!
For those who might be unfamiliar with Rilakkuma, it translates to “Bear in relaxed mood”. This chill and relaxed character is always in a stress-free mood and the best kind of company to have when you want to unwind. Rilakkuma is also joined by the adorable yet mischievous Korilakkuma and carefree Kiiroitori.
Collaboration between San-X, Japan and Kumoya
This year-long collaboration between San-X, Japan and Kumoya@Orchard Central will feature appearances of various San-X characters in the pop-up café. The Rilakkuma – The Relax Café will run for 6 months.
The menu here will also be curated by popular bento food artist Shirley Wong, better known as Little Miss Bento, in collaboration with the Kumoya kitchen crew. You can expect super kawaii dishes and new items on the menu!
Some dishes that caught our eye include the new snack buckets filled with your favourite snack of choice, as well as mains such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, Tendon Rice set and Yuzu Carbonara Pasta.
There are also some delicious desserts such as a honey forest chocolate cake, a pink sakura parfait and some sweet honey pancakes!
Lastly, before you leave, you can bring home sweet memories of the Rilakkuma pop-up café with Kumoya’s specially imported Rilakkuma merchandise including some limited edition coasters!
In the meanwhile, Kumoya’s original location continues to host the Bad Badtz Maru pop-up cafe.
