Good news for IKEA fans, IKEA Singapore will be reopening its doors on Friday, 19 June 2020. However, meatball-lovers will have to wait a bit longer as all IKEA food operations, along with Småland the children’s playground, will remain closed till further notice.

Safe Distancing Measures as IKEA Singapore Reopens

Even though its stores are reopening, IKEA Singapore still encouraged shoppers to visit its stores on weekdays or to shop online. These are part of the measures in place to reduce crowds and queues at its stores.

Other measures which are being put in place are a limitation on visitor capacity and steps to maintain safe distancing of one metre inside the stores.

Customers will also be required to wear masks and undergo temperature checks at the IKEA stores. Customers will also need to check-in using SafeEntry before entering the stores.

Change in Store Hours

Other adjustments which are being made include a change in store hours.

IKEA Alexandra will be open from 10 am to 9 pm from Sunday to Thursday, and 10 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday.

IKEA Tampines will be open from 11 am to 9 pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 11 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday.

The IKEA Alexandra car park will be temporarily closed on weekends.

Bus shuttle services to IKEA Alexandra will not be available till further notice. While the Tampines Retail Park’s bus shuttle service will be running, it will not stop at IKEA.

Stay Safe

These measures are aimed at making the IKEA stores reopening safe for everyone.

While we may bemoan having to wait a bit longer to have to enjoy the IKEA meatballs in store, it is best for everyone to keep safe even as we enter Phase 2. In the meanwhile, we can always make IKEA meatballs at home with this recipe here.
