Hong Kong Day Cha Kee can be found at Goldhill Shopping Centre, next to United Square. Since its opening in 2023, it has been attracting the crowds with its delicious Hong Kong cha chaan teng style food.
Hong Kong Day Cha Kee: HK-Style Cafe Food
Stepping into Hong Kong Day Cha Kee, it felt almost as if we had been transported out of Singapore. The eatery has a decor reminiscent of Hong Kong cha chaan tengs and we were happy to settle down at a table in anticipation of the food.
We were quite excited to see the extensive Hong Kong Day Cha Kee menu that included sandwiches, grilled items, Hong Kong-style baked rice and baked spaghetti, and more.

We placed our order through the app but were dismayed to find that the egg rice with char siew was unavailable. However, we were pleasantly surprised when one of the managers came over said that we would be able to order the item a little while later.
She even promised to let us know once we could place our order.
Not only were we impressed by the attentiveness, and were even more impressed when she kept her word and returned later to let us know we could place the order for the item that we wanted.
Digging in to Cha Chaan Teng Food at Hong Kong Day at Goldhill Shopping Centre
We started off with a bolo bun with butter ($3) as an appetiser to get the meal started. The bolo bun had a soft and fluffy texture but we felt that the butter could have been presented better. It looked a bit lost within the bun.
Next was Baked Spaghetti with Pork Chop & Tomato ($13.80). The sauce wasn’t too rich and “tomato-y”. While some may prefer a sauce with a deeper flavour, we personally enoyed the lighter flavour profile.
The last dish that we tried was the order we had been looking forward to trying. It was the Roasted Char Siu & Scrambled Egg on Rice ($13.80). This was the item that was originally not available.
We were glad that we had waited for it to be available. The pork was succulent and fatty. It melted in the mouth. A sauce brought the meat, scrambled egg and rice together. Our only complaint was that the sauce was too sweet for our liking.
We also ordered the Hong Kong Milk Tea ($4) and were impressed when it was served in a bottle immersed in bucket of ice. This kept it chilled without the risk of being diluted by the melting ice.
The Iced Pineapple Drink ($4.50) was also refreshing.
Hong Kong Day Cha Kee
We enjoyed our visit to Hong Kong Day Cha Kee at Goldhill Shopping Centre. The food felt as authentic as it could be to Hong Kong cha chaan teng food without having to fly to Hong Kong for a visit. If anything, it made us miss the delicious food that Hong Kong has to offer.
Head down to Goldhill Shopping Centre to try the food for yourself.
