
Gardens by the Bay’s first floral display of the year, Dahlia Dreams 2022, is now open at the Flower Dome till 20 February.
The annually Chinese New Year floral display features 2,000 dahlias alongside azaleas, chrysanthemums and cymbidiums.
Dahlia Dreams 2022: Lanterns, Flowers & Auspicious Symbols

Take centrestage for the first time at the Flower Dome for Dahlia Dreams is a River Hongbao lantern set. Entitled Spring Fragrances, the large red lantern set features Chinese moon gates which you can walk under.
There is also a Chinese pavilion display located next to one of the moon gates.

Around the Dahlia Dreams 2022 lantern set are a pair of large-than-life rabbits as well as supersized displays of narcissus, peony and lily blooms, together with ladybirds.

These lanterns light up in the evening, offering a different experience for those who pay a visit to the Flower Dome after dusk.

This being the Year of the Tiger, there are also tiger cubs as part of the display. A tiger cub welcomes visitors to the Flower Dome. It can be spotted amongst other auspicious symbols and festive decorations such as giant coin pouches.

Another tiger cub awaits next to a couplet for good fortune and prosperity.

Other festive symbols at Dahlia Dreams 2022 at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome include a set of large paintings. This painting display shows the “Four Gentlemen” of Chinese culture – the plum blossom, the orchid, the bamboo, and the chrysanthemum.
These four plants not only symbolise the changing seasons, but also represent virtues of resilience, modesty, endurance, flexibility, perseverance and fortitude.
Visiting Dahlia Dreams 2022
Dahlia Dreams 2022 is the first of eight floral displays that will be taking place at Gardens by the Bay this year, the tenth anniversary of the Gardens.
