Two well-loved children’s classics, The Magic Porridge Pot and The Enormous Turnip, will come to life at ACE! 2013 Festival Lite which will be held at Alliance Française Theatre from 20 May to 8 June 2013.
Presented by I Theatre, this streamlined fifth season of ACE! (Arts and Creativity for Everyone) Festival celebrates, promotes and inspires creativity in children aged 3 to 14 and their families. Not only can audiences catch the premiere of two children’s theatre productions, there will also be art and craft workshops for schools and free storytelling sessions organised as part of the festival.
The Enormous Turnip
The Enormous Turnip tells the tale of Little Eek the Mouse who dreams of being noticed and Diggory the Gardener who finds an Enormous Turnip growing in his garden. Fast-paced and colourful, it promises to be an interactive experience for younger audiences with fun and memorable songs. See more…
The Magic Porridge Pot
“Cook, little pot, cook!” These four words by a helpful little girl who dreams of helping her fellow poor villagers brings the Magic Porridge Pot to life. Find out what happens next in this exciting and energetic show which combines puppetry with real actors. Expect a strong interactive element that will appeal to young children and a plot full of surprises. See more…
Fringe Events
Along with the theatre performances, a series of free 20-minute storytelling performances will also be held over the weekends during the Festival. These storytelling sessions entitled, A Trip to Silly Street, is presented by Artistic Expressions and open to all. Get ready for a quirky storytelling adventure with the whacky people along Silly Street.
Creative art workshops related to the performances will also be held for school groups during the Festival. See more…
