Car-free Sunday at the Civic District

Families for Life
Sharing is caring!

Join in a fun-filled day of activities with your friends and family at the upcoming Car-Free Sunday SG on 22 January 2017. Walk, jog, or cycle around the Central Business District and the Civic District to experience the city in a whole new way! The route has been expanded and it will include Cecil Street and the Telok Ayer Conservation Area! Flag off starts at 8 am in front of National Gallery steps.

Car-Free Sunday SG turns part of our city into a pedestrian and cyclist friendly precinct and creates a 5.5 km route of closed roads in the heart of the city. It is part of the larger movement towards a car-lite Singapore.

In conjunction with ‘Car-Free Sunday SG’ every last Sunday of the month (till August 2017), NParks will be organising the following activities:

Kids’ Zone (8.00am to 12.00pm)
Join in various hands-on activities like pebble-painting and turn a simple pebble into an ornamental art piece! There will also be other family-friendly activities such as sketching, woodcarving, colouring and bouncy castles.

Learn more about plants and their uses in different cultures by taking part in the ‘Plants & Culture’ plant propagation activity.

Civic District Tree Trail (9.30am to 11.00am)
The Civic District Tree Trail takes you through Singapore’s historic Civic District where you will be awed by many majestic and interesting trees, some of which have stood tall for many generations and witnessed the transformation and progress of Singapore through the years. Join us as we take you through part of the trail starting from the entrance of Istana to CHIJMES.
