British Council’s courses are designed to incorporate active learning and hands-on exploration to develop your child’s speaking confidence and socialisation skills. Provide your child with a strong foundation in English and inculcate their love for learning so they are able to develop their written and oral communication skills to excel in school.

British Council helps your child succeed at every stage of their academic journey whilst developing the essential 21st century skills and proficiencies to be able to thrive in the fast-changing world. Courses are aligned to the syllabus set by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE).

Early Years (3 to 6 years old)

CourseDescription
Learning Time with Timmy - Nursery 1 to Kindergarten 1
(3 to 5 years old)
This course features Aardman animation studios’ world-famous character Timmy, star of Timmy Time. Stories of Timmy and his friends will capture your child’s imagination and enable them to learn new vocabulary and grammar.
Kindergarten 2
(6 years old)
Equips students with the early-literacy phonic strategies needed to develop reading confidence and prepare for Primary 1.
Speech and Drama
(5 to 6 years old)
This theme-based course uses rhymes, poems, songs, storybooks, discussions and drama activities to encourage enjoyment of communicating in English.
Reading Booster
(6 years old)
Students will learn to read with greater confidence and fluency.

Lower Primary (7 to 9 years old)

CourseDescription
Primary 1
(7 years old)
Students will become more confident readers who are able to identify the different features of written texts and infer meanings from context. They will also learn to organise texts, use grammar accurately and produce a variety of different text types in line with the MOE syllabus.
Reading Development
(7 years old)
The course includes a thorough review of different phonic combinations and a graded reading book that can be practised at home as well as in class. Every two weeks, a new piece of authentic children’s literature is explored and then used to produce a written text in line with the Primary 1 MOE syllabus.
Primary 2 and 3
(8 to 9 years old)
Lower Primary courses will help your child succeed in school whilst nurturing a love for learning.

Upper Primary (10 to 12 years old)

CourseDescription
Primary 4 and 5
(10 to 11 years old)
The course will help your child become a confident communicator, knowledgeable about the world around them, critical thinker, reflective learner and academic achiever.
PSLE Preparation
(12 years old)
This course is designed for students preparing for their PSLE. It provides intensive examination practice, targeting crucial problem areas for Singaporean students.

Secondary and Junior College (13 to 18 years old)

CourseDescription
Secondary Foundation
(13 to 17 years old)
This course is designed to equip students with the foundations of the English language in order to succeed academically and develop confidence in communication.
Secondary Plus
(13 to 15 years old)
This course places a strong emphasis on helping students build a global mindset by developing their critical thinking, resilience and deep reading skills.
O-level Preparation
(16 to 17 years old)
This course provides comprehensive exam preparation for O-levels which includes improving test techniques, comprehension and composition skills and oral communication.
General Paper
(17 to 18 years old)
This course teaches, and tests, comprehension and composition skills through a variety of up to date topical texts. It will equip students with a wider knowledge of the world as well as key exam skills.
