Thomson Jazz Club, Singapore’s only jazz community club, was established in 1993. The Club’s two bands, Thomson Big Band and Thomson Swing Band are traditional jazz big bands with saxophones, trumpets, and trombones, supported by a rhythm section. At their annual Big Band Bash at the Singapore Botanic Gardens this year, you will hear jazz standards from the 1930’s and 40’s which were the then “top of the pops”, along with jazz tunes from the repertoire of present day composers. Do bring along a picnic basket and dine al fresco in lush, green surroundings while the bands delight you with tunes designed to brighten up your weekend.
