Art Day Out! – a Gillman Barracks Saturday open house – returns on 23 June for a special School Holidays Edition! Families can look forward to diverse array of engaging art activities. Featuring family-friendly programmes, new outdoor artworks, exhibition openings and more, Art Day Out! x The School Holidays Edition 2018 will offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to experience, appreciate and be inspired by the arts at Gillman Barracks.

“Creative Collaboration” workshop

Visitors of all ages are invited to join artist Merryn Trevethan for “Creative Collaboration”, an interactive art-making activity at Art Outreach that explores colour, movement and mark-making.
“Eyepop!: The Wonderful World of Yeah Yeah Chloe”

Local Home-grown outfit EYEYAH! and Queensland-based artist Yeah Yeah Chloe present EYE-POP!, a specially commissioned exhibition for both children and adults. Featuring thought-provoking works by Yeah Yeah Chloe and hands-on activities, this interactive exhibition uses art and design to teach children about social issues, bringing communities together and bridging diversity.

Supermama Garage Sale

Presented by Friends of the Museums, the Art & History Tour is for all art enthusiasts looking for a unique encounter with art and an introduction to the Barracks’ history. In addition, a dedicated History & Heritage Tour will also be running, focusing on the Barracks’ evolution from a British military barracks in 1936 to today’s contemporary art cluster.
