A Delightful Family Feast at Wildseed Cafe, The Garage

Indulging in a meal at Singapore Botanic Gardens is even more delightful when the food is sumptuous enough to get you all stuffed ready to walk it off in the surrounds.

Mains at Wildseed Cafe

Since we had a party of five with a growing teen, a foodie tween and a couple of hungry adults, we ordered six mains plus a Bolognese from the kid’s menu. Let’s begin with our top favourites.

Kelong Prawn and Scallop Pizza

The pizzas were the crowd pleaser. Everyone enjoyed the Kelong Prawn and Scallop Pizza ($32) which was cheesy enough, with the cheeses pairing the seafood well. Seafood lovers will definitely enjoy this.

Truffle Brie Pizza

We also liked the Truffle Brie Pizza ($35) – an alternative for less meat and more mushrooms. The cheese was mild and not overbearing and a fresh addition of rocket leaves that mum would approve.

Chicken Satay

Local favourites like Chicken Satay ($25, 12 sticks) appealed to everyone, especially the kids. The fleshy Satay was juicy, tender with fragrant spices. It’s the perfect inclusion in the menu since both the locals and tourists would definitely lap this up.

Seabass Assam Pedas

Next on the Asian favourites was Seabass Assam Pedas ($28)! Who doesn’t love a good Assam fish? We liked how fresh and firm the fish was, served in boneless portions easy to dish out for families who prefer to share the mains. It was tangy with the right amount of chilli, complementing the blue pea rice it was served together with.

Soft Shell Chilli Crab Linguine

We found the Soft Shell Chilli Crab Linguine ($32) to be a tad spicy. Don’t be fooled by the sweet notes in the mouth initially till the fiery spice hits. Perhaps request for a less spicy option if you’re keen to try it.

The Beef Cheek Rendang ($32) was tender, on the saltier side and was also served with blue pea rice needful for the flavours of the Rendang.

Drinks & Desserts at Wildseed Cafe

Drinks & Desserts

Looking for choices to quench the thirst? We were spoilt for choice at Wildseed Cafe, The Garage.

We had Sun-Kissed, Basil Berry, Summer Berries, Bird of Paradise mocktails which were all concocted with different tropical fruits infused with herbs and flavours.

Wildseed Cafe also serves cocktails, beers, wine, fresh juices, coffee and tea. Signature coffee flavours include Kopi-kaya latte and Bandung Cold Brew.

The sweet end to the meal

Don’t forget the desserts! The sweet end to the meal was marked with Black Sesame Petite Cake, Strawberry Shortcake Petite Cake and Cocoa Petite Cake ($13 each).

We paid the desserts the highest Asian compliment – not too sweet! If we were to rate the cakes, everyone thought the Black Sesame Petite Cake was the must-order.
