
It is the super long weekend! As we celebrate Singapore’s 50th Birthday, here is a selection of all the things you can look forward to and do this weekend. Have a great long weekend with the family!
1. Singapore Botanic Gardens Carnival

Singapore Botanic Gardens
Head to Singapore’s World Heritage Site to enjoy nostalgic performances, yummy snacks and carnival games. Be treated to outdoor movie screenings and catch the vibe as the NDP gets screened live at the Gardens. Perhaps, you can even search out these 12 hidden spots Little Day Out found too!

2. Singapore Sports Hub SG50 Carnival
8 to 9 Aug, 9 am to 9 pm
Singapore Sports Hub
Try out sports, play carnival games and enjoy kids’ play zones at the Singapore Sports Hub. Cap it off by watching the NDP live on screen.
3. Fullerton: A Celebration of Our Heritage

Watch a light show projected on the facade of the Fullerton Hotel in celebration of Singapore’s National Day.

4. Uncle Ringo 50 Years of Fun
Till 10 August
Open field beside Marina Bay Sands
Go bumping in bumper cars, go whirly around on amusement rides. It is an old school carnival by the Bay, brought to you by Uncle Ringo. Read more about what else you can do around town by Marina Bay in celebration of National Day!
5. Visit the Science Centre for Free
7 to 10 Aug
Science Centre Singapore
Singapore Citizens get to visit the Science Centre and its attractions (the “Human Body Experience” exhibition, the “Interplay: Where Science Meets Art” exhibition, KidsSTOP™, Snow City, The Cliff @ Snow City and the Omni-Theatre) for free over the Jubilee weekend, subject to the venue’s capacity. Admission is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Peranakan Museum
Get to know the Peranakan pioneers this National Day! Join a guided tour in the galleries exploring life stories, or make art inspired by the collection.
7. Sands for Singapore Charity Festival 2015
30 July to 9 August
Marina Bay Sands
This 10-day event seeks to raise fund for over 80 location charities. Proceeds from admission to Sands SkyPark Observation Deck, ArtScience Museum and Sampan rides will be donated to Community Chest. Enjoy gelato too, with proceeds going to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. Even get a shoe shine and donate to Singapore Association for the Deaf. Children’s activities and a free movie screening of Kung Fu Panda have been lined up for this weekend too.
8. Let’s Celebrate SG50! at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall

Get creative and design your own SG50 coaster or decorate a mini-tee and paint a tote bag in interactive craft workshops.
9. Sentosa SG50 Celebrations
7 to 10 Aug
Sentosa
View the Singapore story in sand at gigantic sand sculptures, Sands of Time, and enjoy interactive kiosks and games along Siloso Beach. There are also free cable car rides on 10 August.
10. Old Tanjong Pagar Railway Station Open House
9 Aug, 9 am to 9 pm
Old Tanjong Pagar Train Station, 30 Keppel Road
To celebrate Singapore’s 50th National Day, the Old Tanjong Pagar Railway will be open to the public. Visitors can enjoy an old school carnival with food stalls, traditional games, a carousel and bumper cars before watching a live screening of the National Day Parade at 6 pm.
11. Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari Specials
7 to 10 August
Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari
Local residents enjoy discounts on admission tickets for the month of August. Over the Jubilee Weekend, special SG50 versions of the animal shows have also been planned at Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo. Visitors will also be able to get a free limited edition SG50 animal-themed tote bags, while stocks last.
12. Jubilee Weekend Celebrations at the Museums
7 to 10 August
National Museum of Singapore
Visit the National Museum with free entry to the galleries. Shop at the Makers’ Market, a cuated marketplace, customise a specially designed museum pop-up card and make a National Day Hat. There will also be puppetry performances by Jeremy Hiah and SINGAPURA: 700 Years Storytelling Sessions.
13. Black Knights Aerial Display
7 to 10 August, noon
Marina Bay
Watch a 25-minute aerial display over the waters at Marina South by the Black Knights. Taking place at 12 pm, the team of pilots in their F-16 places will perform 22 manoeuvres which are sure to thrill the crowds.
