This is a weekend for culture and the great outdoors, with the Singapore Garden Festival, Marina Barrage Kite Day and various performances and arts festivals all kicking off. Find out what events you should pencil in.

1. The Jungle Adventure: A Romp on the Wild Side

2. Tampines Urban Arts Festival 2018

21 July, 5 pm to 9 pm

Our Tampines Hub Festive Plaza & Festive Walk East

Try out various urban arts activities such as coffee painting, digital music and communal painting while paying homage to the sights, sounds and memories of Tampines. There’s also a charity drive you can participate in through art. More info.

3. Dance Drama: The Greatest Good

20 to 21 July

Drama Centre Theatre, National Library Building

Interweaving Chinese mythology with fresh dance choreography, this performance by the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre tells a touching story of filial piety and gratitude. Learn more.

4. Singapore Garden Festival 2018

21 July to 3 Aug, 10 am to 10 pm

Gardens by the Bay

Get your camera ready as you enter a world of exquisite floral creations and spectacular blooms. Be sure to stop by the Orchid Extravaganza which sees local filmmaker Royston Tan lend his creative touch in a floral tribute to Singapore’s multicultural heritage. Details.

5. Kite Day @ Marina Barrage

21 to 22 July, 10 am to 6 pm

Marina Barrage

One of the Barrage’s flagship events that’s back for its eighth edition, this showcases beautiful, gigantic kites from all over the world as well as kite stunts and flying skills. Kids can also look forward to workshops, inflatables and rides. Workshops start from 2 pm. More info.

6. Nickelodeon Slime Cup SG 2018

21 to 22 July, 11 am to 7 pm

City Square Mall

Promoting active living through play, kids will get to enjoy all-out slimy fun with a range of obstacles, games and challenges. Open to Singtel subscribers only on 21 July and the public on 22 July. Find out more.

7. PAssionArts Festival 2018: Whimsical Arts Wonderland

15 to 21 July, 9:30 am to 12 pm

Come relive the joys of bedtime stories at this mega outdoor interactive installation designed like a child’s bedroom. Listen to fantastical stories, art jam with your friends, design your own tote bag and more. Details.


8. Angkor: Exploring Cambodia’s Sacred City. Masterpieces of the Musee national des arts asiatiques-Guimet

Extended till 29 July, 10 am to 7 pm

The exhibition of treasures from the Musée national des arts asiatiques-Guimet has been extended till 29 July 2018. Don’t miss this chance to learn more about the art, architecture and legacy of Angkor. There are activities for kids such as pencil rubbing stations and themed trails. More info.
