Wan Qing CultureFest is back for its seventh edition! Join us in celebrating Singapore’s rich Chinese arts, literary and heritage scene with two weekends of cultural activities. This year’s festival will showcase the best of yesteryear as well as contemporary programmes, from iconic local 60s music and traditional Chinese performing arts, to energetic live acts by Singapore’s best youth groups.

Expect an exciting weekend of offerings including heritage trails, guided tours, cultural workshops, craft bazaars, live performances and more. Join us at Wan Qing CultureFest for a cultural extravaganza not to be missed!

Activities are free unless otherwise stated.

Carnival Booths
Date: 4, 5, 11, 12 Nov

From fortune-telling to retro games, there’s something for everyone. Activities include Fortune-telling, Chinese Calligraphy, Local Childhood Games, and a Retro Photo-booth.

Snack Booths

Feast on local delights while you learn more about Chinese tradition and heritage!

Wing Chun Martial Arts Class
Date: 4 Nov

Venue: Lawn
Get fit with friends and family as you learn the ancient martial art of Wing Chun with Instructor Daryl Yeo.

Zumba Class

Groove to a playlist of energetic Mandarin pop songs and sweat it out at our Zumba Class!

Parent-Child Crosstalk Workshop

Storytelling Techniques Workshop

Learn some basic storytelling techniques to become a more captivating speaker!

Discovering Chinese Opera Workshop

Admission: $10 (admits 2 people)
Participate in a special workshop and get hands-on experience in Chinese operatic movements and make-up, suitable for all ages!

Chinese Knot-making Workshop
Date: 12 Nov
Time: 2pm – 3pm (first session); 3.30pm – 4.30pm (second session)

Admission: $10 (admits 2 people)
Get crafty and learn how to make a traditional Chinese knot in this fun workshop, and bring home a cultural souvenir!

Storytelling

Venue: Gallery 4 (Level 2)
Join our popular Mandarin storytelling sessions conducted by local authors and veteran storytellers! Each session will feature a different story and fun craft activities.

Balestier Heritage and Food Trail
Date: 4, 5, 11, 12 Nov
Time: 3.30pm – 5pm
Venue: Reception Area
Admission: $5 per person. Includes a bottle of mineral water and a loaf of traditional bread.
Uncover the history of Balestier and and sample delicious local delights along the way.

Afternoon Concert
