Specially unveiled for Father’s Day, Flame of Fathers is a hearty meal meant for sharing. There are two options: Legacy Flame ($380++) which is good for 4 persons and the Prime Flame ($220++), good for 2. Both menus feature generous cuts of Miyazaki Wagyu steak, alongside ample sides and dessert.
The Legacy Flame: Indulgent Family Feast
We had the opportunity to sample the Legacy Flame, which comfortably fed our family of 5, including one child under 10.
The star of the show was of course the Wagyu – all 800g of it! The Legacy Flame included 2 hefty beautifully-marbled 300g steaks – one Ribeye and the other Chuck Roll – as well as 100g of Karubi and 100g of Chuck Roll thin-sliced Sukiyaki style.
We started with the slices, which took a bare 3-4 seconds on the grill, dipped in the fresh raw Okinawan egg provided. This umami-packed teaser got everyone clamouring for more, and raring to get the steaks on the grill.
We opted to cook one steak whole on the grill, and have the kitchen slice the other before grilling. While the former took a little longer on the grill, both yielded slices of melt-in-your-mouth meat with the robust complex flavour distinctive of top-grade Wagyu. Paired with the selection of sauces on offer – salt & pepper, garlic and yakiniku – each mouthful was sheer delight.
Beyond Meat: Veggies & Desserts
A variety of grilled mushrooms, peppers and leeks provided a welcome interlude between the rich succulence of the beef, as did the simply but well-done sides of tofu salad with whitebait, miso soup with clams, and karaage chicken with ponzu sauce.
Near-satiated, we capped the meal off with the house selection of refreshing Japanese-flavoured ice-creams and sorbets, opting to try the matcha, yuzu and peach flavours.
The DIY-nature of a Yakiniku meal always makes for great family bonding. Coupled with the unbeatable view of the Jewel Rain Vortex from our table, this indulgent feast was truly a Father’s Day treat that Dad – and all of us – will remember for a while.
For smaller families – or Mums, if you fancy a Father’s Day date – the Prime Flame offers a more manageable 300g of premium Wagyu steak alongside a slightly different selection of sides. Both menus are on offer until 6 July 2025. Special French wines by the bottle are also available at $79.
And if the family makes the trip up to Jewel to enjoy this promotion, there’s always plenty to do while you’re there to make it a great Little Day Out! Check out our updated list here.
