Sentosa Port of Lost Wonder – BBQ Under the Stars
1 Feb
Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Port of Lost Wonder with a BBQ under he stars, pirate ship night play and special activites for the festive season. BBQ is from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm. The Port of Lost Wonder is open throughout the Lunar New Year period.

 

River Hongbao 2014
29 Jan to 8 Feb
Welcome in the Year of the Horse at The Float @ Marina Bay and soak in the festive atmosphere. Free admission. Open fro 12 pm to 11.30 pm daily; 12 pm to 1 am on CNY Eve.

Istana Open House
1 Feb
Visit the Istana grounds between 8.30 am and 6 pm. Watch lion dance and Wushu performances, and take part in a nature walk around the Istana’s grounds.

National Orchid Garden: Gallop into Spring – a Special Display to Celebrate Lunar New Year

Celebrate a prosperous new beginning with the natural beauty Spring has to offer. Admission charges apply. Free admission for Singaporeans and PRs from 31 Jan to 2 Feb.

Far East Organization Children’s Garden
Pay a visit to the new Far East Organization Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay. Open for the CNY weekend, including Mon, 3 Feb.

Singapore Philatelic Museum
Chinese New Year Open House
31 Jan to 1 Feb
Take part in quizzes and a giant stamp jigsaw activity. Watch guzheng and lion dance performances. 9.30 am to 7 pm. Till 5 pm on CNY Eve.

Horses for Courses exhibition

Learn about horses through stamps at the Singapore Philatelic Museum

National Museum of Singapore
Chinese New Year Open House
31 Jan to 2 Feb
Free admission to all galleries at the NMS. On Sat, 1 Feb, activities for children include The Story a Painting Tells story-telling session from 2.30 pm to 3 pm and 4.30 pm to 5 pm and creating a pop-up horse craft from 12 pm to 5 pm. Enjoy a lion dance performance at 2pm on Sun, 2 Feb and an on-site art competition from 10 am to 2 pm.

Visit the SAM for free during the CNY Open House and take part in activities on Sat, 1 Feb, including making a puppel, dressing up with CNY-themed decoration and making a horse-shaped hat.

Journey through 600 million years in this never-before-seen exhibition that takes visitors from the time before dinosaurs to their extinction.

Science Centre: Dr Ken Farquhar’s Science Circus Show

Expect to see CNY objects in new ways as Dr Ken Faruahar explains science in novel ways including juggling and balancing acts, and getting volunteers to catch red packets in a reaction test. 30 Jan – 2 pm & 4pm; 31 Jan to 2 Feb, 11 am, 2 pm & 4 pm. Be mesmerized by Aerial Acrobatics presented by the Zhengzhou Star Acrobatics Troupe (31 Jan & 1 Feb, 4.30 pm, 6 pm & 8.30 pm, Merlion Plaza; 2 Feb, 3 pm Emerald Pavilion, 4.30 pm & 6 pm, Merlion Plaza) and Northern Lion Dances. Feast your eyes on the luminous LED Dragon Dance by the Wenyang Sports Association (Singapore) on 31 Jan & 1 Feb at the Beach Plaza, 7.15 pm & 9.15 pm.

S.E.A. Aquarium: A Sea of Celebrations

Visitors can enjoy the sounds of Chinese-fusion chamber music and be surprised by special underwater festive greets from divers. There will also be street magic, stilt walks, acrobatics and activities for children.
