A shopping mall disguised as an airport, Terminal 21 Bangkok brings new meaning to the term “shopping destination”.

Conveniently located next to Asok BTS station, Terminal 21 features nine floors of shops and restaurants.

Enter the Airport Shopping Mall

To enter the shopping mall, you step through a metal detector (which isn’t unusual in Bangkok) but at Terminal 21, it is dressed up like an airport’s security screening zone. Individual floors are decorated according to different country themes.

Around the World

The first floor adopts Japan as it country theme. The narrow walkways between the shops are vaguely reminiscent of Harajuku. A pair of sumo wrestlers statues and a suit of samurai warrior armour provide plenty of photo opps.

One floor above is London-themed zone. You will find an iconic red telephone box that you can zip into and lanes dressed up like the streets of London.

One of the prettiest floors is the Turkish-styled third level where you can shop for gifts and knickknacks. Check out the intricate details on the walls and ceilings.

Other picturesque themed areas at Terminal 21 Bangkok include the American coast and Roman courtyard in the basement.

Beyond the Shops

The international travel theme is not confined to just the decor. Even the mall staff get in on the act. You will see them dressed in costume as they go about their duties.

The majority of the dining outlets at Terminal 21 Bangkok can be found on the higher floors.

Dressed up to resemble San Francisco, you will find a restaurant housed in a cable car, a replica of the Fisherman Wharf sign and a massive Golden Gate Bridge model that stretches across the atrium. Great for photo ops.

The top level where Terminal 21 Bangkok’s food court can also be found. Filled with a wide variety of stalls, the food court is a great destination for those who want a fuss-free meal. However, take note that even though it is a large and spacious, it can fill up quickly during lunch and dinner times.
