Introduce your young ones to a magical Japanese tale told through colour, light and shadows.
A long, long time ago, an old woodcutter finds a baby girl in a shining bamboo stalk. He takes her home to his wife, they name Princess Kaguya, meaning “shining beauty”. Together, they raise and love her as their own. The three live in happiness as the elderly couple watch her grow into an extremely beautiful young woman within a short period of time. Little do they know, Princess Kaguya is actually from the moon and her time with them is running out.
Other than learning about the fascinating world of shadow puppetry, children also get to participate in an interactive segment with songs they can sing along to!
Performed in English.
