For the first time in its seven-year history, this year’s Safari Zoo Run will see activities spread out over two days.

Come 7 and 8 February 2015, runners can pound along the grounds of the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, racing past the animals and enjoying the greenery found there.

Saturday, 7 February is reserved for competitive races while fun runs and a carnival will be held on Sunday, 8 February.

Activities at the Safari Zoo Run 2015

Family-friendly activities to look forward to on 8 February include a 2.8 km Parent & Child run for children between four to eight years old and a 2.8 km Fastest Kid race for older children between eight to 12 years old. Also being held on 8 February is the inaugural Safari Zoo Run Carnival. Highlights include a bazaar, mascot meet-and-greet session, fun fair and educational stations, and performances.

Participants will receive an exclusive dri-fit Safari Zoo Run singlet or T-shirt (worth $24.90) and other attractive goodies including discounted admission to Night Safari or a chance to stroll through River Safari in the evening. In addition, all runners will walk away with an exclusive animal-motif finisher medal and a one-day entry to Singapore Zoo on the day of the run.

The Safari Zoo Run was conceived to remember Ah Meng, Singapore Zoo’s famous Sumatran orang utan who died of old age in February 2008. Part of the proceeds from the Safari Zoo Run go towards the care of threatened animals at the Night Safari and Singapore Zoo.
