Presented in conjunction with the exhibition The More We Get Together: Singapore’s Playgrounds 1930 – 2030, this year’s Children’s Season at the National Museum invites young visitors to explore different types of play experience at the museum. Families can look forward to a fun line-up of interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, storytelling sessions, family workshops, engaging performances, and more!

PROGRAMMES

Bouncy Adventures
Saturday, 26 May to 24 Jun  | 10am – 5.30pm | Front Lawn
Embark on a bouncy adventure at the National Museum with interactive inflatable playgrounds inspired by iconic mosaic playgrounds of yesteryears! You can also go on an “animal hunt” with our animal springers for more bouncy fun.

The Dynamic Lines of Our Nest by Matali Crasset (FR)
Daily, 20 Apr to 30 Sep | 10am to 6pm | Rotunda, Level 1
This art installation by French artist Matali Crasset pays tribute to the awakening of our curiosity. By twisting the central pole, the installation is transformed into a colourful mobile for toddlers in a central playpen below.

The More We Play Together! – A Playbook for the Young and Young at Heart 
20 Apr – 30 Sep | Free
A playbook full of quiet activities and fun facts for children and the young at heart! Find your way through the museum’s exhibition The More We Get Together: Singapore’s Playgrounds 1930 – 2030 and outdoor play spaces, discovering little known facts about Singapore’s playgrounds and the museum’s historic grounds.

Saturdays and Sundays, 26 May to 24 Jun | 10am & 2.30pm (2 hours per session) | The Salon, Level 1
The National Museum’s Young Cinema programme returns with TimeScapes – A Singapore Anthology, a collection of animated short films about life, love and the landscapes of Singapore past and present.

National Museum Building Tour for Families
Saturday, 26 May | 11am – 11.45am | Rotunda, Level 1
Join us on a learning journey around the museum and discover more interesting gems about this 130-year-old building.

Children’s Season Special: Timmy and Tammy at the Dragon Playground – Storytelling Session by Esther Eio
