ME Games Chinatown: All-in-One Arcade Experience

ME Games Chinatown: All-in-One Arcade Experience

We’ve passed by Lucky Chinatown many times before but have only noticed the various collectible shops. It was only recently that we discovered that ME Games has opened in the basement of the shopping centre.

We made our way to the bottom floor of the shopping – basement 3 – thinking to ourselves that this must be the deepest level of any building in Chinatown. At the bottom of the escalator, we arrived at the reception counter of ME Games Chinatown.

The way that ME Games works is that you pay one price to enter into the premises and you get access to all the games. There are hourly admission rates as well as all-day rates on certain days. Hourly rates start from $12 for weekday admission.

Take note that children under 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

After paying the admission fee, we went to the gate, scanned the QR code on our wristband and entered in.

Games and Things to do at ME Games in Chinatown

ME Games in Chinatown occupies around 6,000 square feet of space – the entirety of Lucky Chinatown’s basement 3.

Here is a look at some of the activities and games that you can find there.

VR Gaming

Put on a pair of VR goggle to play a shooting game. We found ourselves shooting hearts out at bunnies and other targets in the VR world.

Ball Maze

Ball Maze

This can either be a one-person or two-person cooperative challenge. Use the strings to control the ball and send it through the wooden maze.

Darts

Darts

Select your preferred mode and take aim in this dart game. The electronic board automatically keeps score for you.

Projector Sports

Projector Sports

You can try challenging each other at this Projector Sport station. We tried bowling. By stepping on the projected image on the floor, we sent the virtual bowling ball hurtling down to the pins.

Basketball Challenge

Basketball Challenge

This is a test of your speed and accuracy as you shoot the hoops. There are some that are closer to the front that are good for kids, while others are further back for the pros.

Duel Ball

Duel Ball

This is a team game and best played in big groups. During this interactive game, each team needs to throw balls to hit the moving targets on the opposing team’s digital screen. Sort of like dodgeball but with a digital twist.

Motion Sensing Gaming

Motion Sensing Gaming

Get the whole body involved in the game at the Motion Sensing Game Station. You need to control what’s happening on screen by shifting your feet and body around to play games like tetris. When we visited, some of the stations were not working though and we did wish that the screen was brighter.

Spin Racer

Spin Racer

This is a fun game where you have to control the on-screen ball by spinning the physical one in front of you as you race through the landscape.

The Floor is Lava

The Floor is Lava

The Floor is Lava game at ME Games Chinatown is able to accommodate between two to eight players but best experienced with four players. Stay alive and get out of the way of the red tiles because the floor is lava!
