MINT Museum of Toys’ series of workshops and tours, MAKE + PLAY, is back, promising more fun and nostalgia for families. This edition, which runs from 19 November – 18 December, is themed after the museum’s Outerspace collection, and will feature a line-up of programmes showcasing an array of rich and colourful vintage toys, from robots and spaceships to astronauts and aliens.
Programmes for MAKE + PLAY include an exploratory segment that will allow families to discover and learn more about classic toys from past decades, such as Robot Lilliput, the first robot toy that was produced in the 1930’s, and Mechanical Martin, a rare alien toy produced in the 1950’s, among others.
Accompanying this exploratory segment is the interactive and creative segment. Taking some of these unique and nostalgia-filled vintage toys as inspiration, families will get to create their very own toy and memorabilia, and bring home a piece of history with them. They can also also opt for mission-based sessions that apply skills, such as robotics and crafts, to engage actively with and learn more about the vintage toys, exposing them to the fun experience of playing with toys from the past and the present.
