Experience graceful dancing apsaras and lively sbek thom shadow puppets as they come alive off ancient Angkor temples. Rediscover Khmer art and architecture in craft activities inspired the exhibition Angkor: Exploring Cambodia’s Sacred City, Masterpieces of the Musée national des arts asiatiques – Guimet. . Have an encore of Angkor this weekend: explore with an activity booklet and use the hands-on interactives throughout the exhibition. All this and more awaits you!

Let your curiosity run wild – explore ancient civilisations this June! Uncover myths and legends as the Story Whisperers enthrall you with wonderful tales. Kick back and unwind by enjoying drama performances and children-friendly Lunchtime Concerts! If you are a seasoned explorer up for a challenge, head off for an interactive tour of our special exhibition and rediscover old Cambodian civilisation at Angkor: Exploring Cambodia’s Sacred City.

Carved in Stone
Create your own masterpiece inspired by carvings on the stone walls of Angkor temples in this rubber stamp carving workshop. Take a closer look at the beautiful details of Khmer art and architecture as you are guided by experienced facilitators in this beginner-friendly workshop. Then start decorating with the one-of-a-kind stamp you carved by yourself!

Pillow Fight! – Sleepover for Children

Grab your sleeping bags and head off for an overnight stay at the museum. Explore the grounds after hours – go on a treasure hunt, and make your own supper snack. Huddle around for storytelling after dark, and catch a film screening. The museum is yours – all night long.

Drama Queen

Asian Culture Music Series – Indonesia

Dive into a thousand years of traditional Asian music, dance, and drama with performances, workshops, and evening concerts at the Asian Civilisations Museum as we celebrate 50 years of friendship with Indonesia in the month of June!
Feel the rhythm of traditional Javanese percussion or be mesmerised by Wayang Sandosa,a modern form of Indonesian shadow puppetry showcasing Cupu Manik Astagina, an excerpt from the Ramayana. Spend the evening with friends and family chillin’ at a pop concert with local talents from Singapore and Indonesia at the Empress Lawn, and join special workshops by local craftsmen or Balinese dancers.
