Looking for nice French comfort food in a comfortable setting for lunch, in an accessible location? French restaurant Les Ducs might just be your answer, as it introduces its time-limited lunch menu Bouillon, that is inspired by the comforting dishes of French home cooking and traditional brasseries that shaped French chef-owner Louis Pacquelin’s growing up years.
Inspired by the historic “Bouillon” establishments of late 19th Century Paris, France, that served soulful quality meals to the working class, the restaurant endeavours to bring that same spirit to Singapore’s dining scene.

The cozy 40-seat restaurant is decorated tastefully with French and Peranakan influences, as tribute to the cultural influences that come to play in the dishes served. It also has a handful of seats for alfresco dining, for those who like to enjoy meals with some fresh air.

Lunch menu dishes start at S$6, with mains that cost as low as S$12, with no service charge. It’s unfussy, warm, and surprisingly doesn’t wear a hole in your wallet without compromising quality — a hidden gem in Singapore’s central business district (CBD) adjacent dining scene.
Bouillon by Day: Comfort with Character
Available from Mondays to Saturdays, the Bouillon lunch menu was initially launched in February 2026 as a 3-month pop up menu, and would now extend till the end of year, with no fixed end date set for the time being. The menu covers from starters to mains, vegetable and cheese options, and a nice selection of desserts under S$10.
Here were some of the highlights we had tasted:
Le bouillon Les Ducs (chicken broth, vegetables, French noodles) (S$12) was a good comfort starter for someone like me, with a special endearment for soup-based dishes. Portions were generous and each spoon was filled with ingredients.
Bone Marrow with chargrilled dough (S$12) might be a dish that some would find foreign, but give it a try and you might just discover a new dish that you’d return often for. It was well-seasoned and rich in flavours packed within the bone marrow’s butter-like textures. The chargrilled dough offered a clean balance to the overall flavours, and set the stomach for the dishes to follow.
Confit duck leg with sauté potatoes (S$22) was served with an evenly crisp skin and the meat was tender and soft. The sauté potatoes complemented the duck leg well, holding its own ground within the dish, and might even dominate the palate focus if you like starchy food.
Angus beef bourguignon with coquillettes (S$25) was a main that we enjoyed too. The braised angus beef melts into your mouth, oozing with juice and warm flavourful sauce with each bite. It was comforting and went well with the red wine we had.
For desserts, we tried the Crème Mont Blanc (S$8), Chocolate mousse (S$9) and Chocolat Liégeois (S$9). We couldn’t decide if we liked the Chocolate mousse and Crème Mont Blanc more, as both rounded up the meal well. It was not too sweet, and at the same time gave satisfying finishes to the hearty meal.
Overall Verdict
Les Ducs provides good quality food for diners to enjoy in a cozy setting and comfortable ambience. Through the mesh of French and Singaporean influences in the food and the restaurant decoration, it distils the cultural crossroads into a dining experience that feels both grounded and adventurous.
While the cost for a full meal from starter to mains and desserts is not be as affordable as say, coffeeshop prices, it certainly made French cuisine more accessible to those of us who just wish to spend time with family and friends in a nice eatery every now and then, with reasonable prices.
For those visiting in the evenings, Les Ducs also houses Madame Claude on its upper floors, a cocktail space inspired by Parisian salons and cabaret culture. Guests can pair drinks with French‑leaning bites from Les Ducs, making the transition from dinner to late‑night revelry seamless.
