Say G’day to the koalas from noon on 20 May 2015 when Chan, Idalia, Pelita and Paddle, make their public debut at the Singapore Zoo. The quartet of koalas will be in Singapore for six months and are on loan from Australia to mark Singapore’s 50th anniversary and 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Koalamania at the Singapore Zoo

For five weekends from 30 May to 28 June, Koalamania is set to take over the Singapore Zoo with activities for the young that include crafting koala origami art, pencil huggers and Australian aboriginal-inspired dot painting on pebbles. Visitors can snap a photo at the zoo’s koala photo illusion wall and participate in a contest for a chance to win a family holiday to Queensland, Australia with Qantas Airways. Koala Mask-cum-Fan will also be handed out on the weekends (limited to 1000 daily) and visitors can also expect to enjoy didgeridoo performances by The Earthtone Project.

Zoolympix

In addition, Zoolympix is also returning during the school holiday with educational activities for kids between five and 12 years old. Junior Explorers will get to learn more about animal conservation by picking up a Zoolympix booklet and taking part in five wildlife-themed game stations found throughout the zoo. Take part in a Spin and Win lucky draw after completely the Zoolympix booklet.

SG50 Promotions

In celebration of SG50, local residents who visit the Singapore Zoo will be able to enjoy 50% off River Safari admission on the same day. Singapore Citizens and permanent residents who are 60 and above will enjoy free admission to the Singapore Zoo from 30 May to 30 June 2015.
