The Istana Deepavali Open House 2018 takes place on 6 November 2018, 8.30 am to 6 pm. During this time, pay a visit to the Istana grounds to enjoy a range of activities that have been planned for the day.

Tours at the Istana Deepavali Open House 2018

During the Istana Open House 2018 for Deepavali, members can go on a tour of the Istana gardens on a Nature Guided Walk, or take a guided tour of the Istana main building to view function rooms and various State Gifts which Singapore has received from foreign dignitaries.

Visitors can also choose to go on a self-guided tour to discover various points of interested on the Istana grounds and embark on a self-guided Plants Trail and learn about plants within the garden.

Performances and Things to do at the Deepavali Open House

Other activities that will be held during the Istana Deepavali Open House 2018 include face painting booths, balloon sculpting, and a sand art activity booth. Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s keepers will also be present with a display of birds.

The President Challenge’s memorabilia series will be available during the 6 November open house. Among these are items such as leather key chains, luggage tags, notebooks, bookmarks, and magnets.

Visitors can also look forward to performances throughout the day during the Istana Deepavali Open House 2018. There will be performances by Team Fusion and St Margaret’s Secondary School Symphonic Band in the morning. In the afternoon, visitors will be treated to band performances by Bukit Batok Chinese Orchestra and CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary School Concert Band. There will an Indian Dance Performance by Sampada Dance Studio and Rhythm Masala will also be bringing their beats to the Deepavali Open House 2018.

Admission to the Istana grounds during Deepavali is free for Singaporeans and Singapore permanent residents. A $2 entrance fee per person applies otherwise.

The Istana Heritage Gallery, opposite from the Istana main gates, will also be open from 10 am to 6 pm.
