Haw Par Villa will be temporarily closed from 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021. This was announced on its Facebook page today.

The given reason for Haw Par Villa’s six-month temporary closure for upgrading works.
Some of the reactions in the comments section of the Facebook post expressed surprise at the closure since Haw Par Villa only recently reopened as part of Phase 2 of the Post-Circuit Breaker period.

In September 2020, Haw Par Villa had also announced that Ten Courts of Hell would be closed for maintenance from 17 September till the end of October 2020. It would probably be safe to assume that this latest announcement supersedes that one.
An earlier post on 25 September provided a look at what may be taking place during the closure. It showed one of the park’s artisans hard at work restoring some of the park’s 1,000 sculptures and dioramas.
In 2019, it had also undergone a renovation before reopening on 1 March.
We are looking forward to Haw Par Villa reopening in 2021.
