We are almost mid-way through the year and the June holidays are fast approaching. Looking for things to do with the children in Singapore? Get the latest information on activities and events you can look forward to during the 2013 June school holidays!
Whether you are planning to bring the kids out to the attractions around Singapore or to attend live shows around town, we will be rounding them up and bringing them to you. We have grouped the various activities going on during the June school holidays into the following categories:

2. Meet The Trashies (Trash Pack) – Downtown East

All the way from Down Under, The Trashies are here to bring you the trashiest, grossest fun in town. Feast on a live performance by the Gross Gang and rub shoulders with the Blow Fly, Trash-A-Pillar and more.

3. Meet Garfield and Friends – West Coast Plaza

Enjoy a song and dance musical and get groovy with Arlene, Nermal, Odie and Garfield!

4. Barbie Makeover and Photoshoot, DIY Corner and Meet & Greet – VivoCity

Activities at Attractions

1. Singapore Zoo

a. Zoolympix

Pick up a Zoolympix passport and make your way through 6 Rescue Ranger Stations where children can complete fun games and activities. $3 per Zoolympix passport. Recommended for children between 5 to 12 years old.

Time:  10 am – 4 pm

b. Frozen Tundra

During the weekends in June, join in the activities being held to celebrate the return of Inuka and friends at the new Frozen Tundra enclosure. During the weekends, there will be token feedings at 10 am, 1 pm and 4 pm; photography sessions with a polar bear mascot at 10.30am, 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm; Polar bear ice sculpting demo at 1.30pm. Get a glitter tattoo at the Frozen Tundra between 10 am and 1 pm.

2. Jurong Bird Park

a. Dora and Diego Meet-and-Greet

Dora And Diego

Meet Dora and Diego from Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go!. Join them for a 30 minute meet-and-greet session at the Jurong Bird Park’s Pools Amphitheatre at 12.30pm every weekend in June.

b. Explorer of the 5 Continents

Pick up a Jurong Bird Park Kid’s Explorer Kit with a “passport” and navigate around the Park to pick up stamps while visiting exhibits of birds from Australia, South America, Antarctica, Asia and Africa!

c. Meet the Bird Stars

Dora and Diego are not the only stars you can meet at the Park. Come face-to-face with feathered stars such as the hornbill at 1.45pm at the Penguin Coast.

d. Dr Squawk’s Expedition

Follow Dr Squawk on an expedition around the Park as she searches for her feathered friends. For children between the ages of 5 to 12 years old. The expedition starts at 2.30pm and 4.30pm at the Breeding and Research Centre. Pre-registration online is required or at the venue 15 minutes before the start of the expedition.

e. Immersive Programmes

Children between 10 to 12 years old can take part in “Be a Junior Avian Keeper” on 7 June 2013 to experience what it like to care for birds, including preparing feed and enrichments. This programme is priced at $250.00 per child.

Children between 6 and 12 years old can sign up for the 3-Day Bird Quest Camp from 12 to 14 June. The day camp will allow them to get upclose with feathered friends and to learn more about birds, including how the make nests and how feathers help in flight. The programme is priced at $250.00 per child.

Members of the Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari and Singapore Zoo are entitled to 10% off the published rates.

3. Science Centre Singapore

Megabugs Return!

Where: Science Centre Singapore
When: 20 Apr to 18 Aug 2013
What: Get a bugs-eye view of life at Megabugs Return! Come face-to-face with animatronic spiders, beetles and scorpions, and other creepies that normally wander underfoot.

4. Sentosa

a. Find Dr H at Images of Singapore

Where: Images of Singapore, Sentosa
When: 18 May to 30 Jun 2013, 9am to 7pm daily (last entry at 6.30pm)
What: Enjoy free entry for children under the age of 12 at the Images of Singapore from 18 May to 30 Jun 2013. Take part in a interactive adventure to search for Dr H through key milestones in Singapore’s history.

b. Fun at Imbiah Lookout

Where: Imbiah Lookout, Sentosa
When: 1 to 30 Jun 2013
What: Sentosa Storytelling Comes Alive is back with Playmobil characters, puppetry and dance performances. See the schedule of activites below.

5. Changi Airport

When: 1 to 30 June 2013
What: Laos and Myanmar glitter with rich history and culture. Discover this Asia of old right at Changi Airport! Explore these mystical places through interactive displays and a 10-course obstacle track that promises fun-filled adventures.

1. Art Garden 2013

Step into an immersive world of fairy tales and contemporary art at the Singapore Art Museum’s Art Garden 2013.

2. Children’s Season – Island Adventures 2013

Uncover Singapore’s past at the National Museum of Singapore through crafts, storytellings and kid-friendly exhibits.

1. Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf – Memory Thief

Where: Festive Grand Theatre, Resorts World Sentosa
When: 28 to 30 Jun 2013

What: The children’s mandarin animated series “Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf” (喜羊羊) comes to stage. Introduce kids to Chinese in a fun way through this hilarious live show. Tickets available through SISTIC.
