Celebrate the Lunar New Year at S.E.A. Aquarium, Resorts World Sentosa, where the Year of the Rooster is being welcomed with an exciting festive programme, Gong SEA Fa Cai.
Taking place from 21 Jan to 11 Feb 2017, immerse yourself in fun activities that will delight the entire family and bring new meaning to the festive greeting, nian nian you yu (“abundance year after year”).
Catch an Exciting Underwater Dragon Dance
View Singapore’s one and only underwater dragon dance at the S.E.A. Aquarium. This unique aquatic show takes place daily from 27 Jan to 11 Feb. Watch as the underwater dragon spins and spirals along with the currents of the Open Ocean Habitat, swimming against a breath-taking backdrop of sharks, fish and rays.
Special lighting effects will create an “underwater” atmosphere at the Ocean Gallery where viewers can watch the dragon twist and twirl to the pulsating beat of a live Chinese drummer.

Go on the Educational Trail of the Rooster (Hogfish)
Embark on a fun and educational trail centred around the Rooster Hogfish. Belonging to the second largest family of marine fishes, the Rooster Hogfish has spiky fins on its back, reminiscent of a rooster’s comb. This unusual fish has a pig-like snout and a mouth that can extend outwards. On the trail, young ones will also learn about other sea animals considered “lucky” in Chinese culture, such as the Leafy Sea Dragon and Abalone.
Pick up a trail map (in the form of a festive fan) and head to activity stations around the aquarium. Complete the fun, hands-on activities at the stations to earn stamps and complete the trail.
Get the Creative Juices Going at the Festive Crafts Corner
Kids will enjoy the many fun activities at the Gong SEA Fa Cai festive crafts corner. From drawing and colouring to origami, there are plenty of ways for kids to exercise their creativity here.
Meet-and-greet Sessions
S.E.A. Aquarium’s mascots, Manta Mai and Ancient S.E.A. Guardian, will be making appearances during Gong SEA Fa Cai.
At the Ocean Gallery, kids can “shake fins” with friendly mascot Manta Mai who is dressed up to celebrate the festive occasion.
Over at Shipwreck Habitat, you will encounter the Ancient S.E.A. Guardian (in his glittery headgear). If you have completed the Trail of the Rooster, pass him your card to receive an angpao with a sweet surprise inside!

If you buy the S.E.A. Aquarium ticket online, entry to the Pokémon Research Exhibition is included.
At the Pokémon Research Exhibition (on till 5 March 2017), go on a mission to identify the secret Pokémon hiding in a Poké Ball. Scan the Poké Ball at various stations inside the facility to learn the traits of the Pokémon in your Poké Ball. Play the role of a researcher and see if you can deduce the identity of your Pokémon.
Pokémon fans (young and old) can also look forward to appearances by everyone’s favourite Pokémon, Pikachu.
