Get Curious, the Children’s Special 2019 at National Museum of Singapore invites children to explore its permanent galleries and the treasure trove of stories it holds. Stories that range from land to sea are presented through interactive activities at the basement of the museum.
A series of interactive stations have been set up along at the Canyon at the basement for Children’s Special 2019 at National Museum Of Singapore. These are divided into four zones, each presenting stories through hands-on play.

At Stories of the Land, kids can piece together a jigsaw puzzle of a painting of Mount Wallich, an iconic artwork that can be found within the Singapore History Gallery.
Activities at Stories of the Sea include the chance to play “Indiana Jones” and piece together sunken treasure that has been recovered from the sea. There is also a weighing scale activity which makes history more accessible by relating it the weight of animals.

There is also a section which highlights once-popular traditional games of yesteryear.
The final zone along the Canyon is Stories of You & Me. This section is dedicated to allowing children and families to reflect on their own personal objects which they view as important.
Bouncy Castles in the Basement
Finally, no Children’s Special 2019 at National Museum of Singapore would be complete without bouncy castles. There are three bouncy castles set up INDOORS at the basement gallery where kids can bouncy about in air-conditioned comfort!
The Forest Playground area has been inspired by William Farquhar’s collection of natural history drawings. The bouncy castles are themed after native birds.
There are also two play tents where kids can explore animals found in the Southeast Asian region.
Get Curious!
National Museum of Singapore will also be launching Get Curious!, an interactive guide book for families to the museum’s permanent galleries. Aimed at preschoolers, this features kid-friendly activities which can aid in the exploration of the museum’s collection.
