Costa Grove Lobster Playground

The Costa Grove playground that immediately catches the eye is the bright red lobster playground, located in front of Block 590A above the multi-storey car park.

With two googly eyes and a set of feelers extending down the front, the lobster playground at Costa Grove looks cute and friendly. It is designed for ages 5 to 12 years old.

A pair of slides on either side of the head serve, rather ingeniously, as its pinchers.

Entering the lobster playground

Kids can enter the lobster in several different ways.

One of the entryways is at the tail of the lobster. Here, kids get access into the lobster’s body by climbing across a cargo net.

Alternatively, kids can also climb up a shaft under the body of the lobster that takes them vertically up and into the lobster. Or there are also climbing ramps that encourage kids to exercise their gross motor skills.

Inside the lobster playground

Besides the two slides, kids can also make use of a fireman’s pole at the head of the lobster to descend back down.

Younger kids can head over to the Mudskipper Slide, close by in front of Block 590B. A pair of mudskippers lie perched on a mound. And this play area has the added bonus of the shelter of a tarp to provide some shade.

A set of colouful grips fitted onto the mound provide another way for intrepid young kids to reach the slide.

low rope obstacles

There are also a set of play panels and even low rope obstacles too. The rope obstacle is set low enough for young kids to attempt (with parental supervision) and build up their confidence.
