It was a mesmerising trip through Wonderland with Cirque Alice at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands on the opening night, 9 October 2025.
Drawing inspiration from the beloved Lewis Carroll book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Cirque Alice features an amazing cast of acrobats, contortionists and performers, brought together by the creators of Cirque Du Soleil’s Mad Apple and the Broadway smash hit The Illusionists.

The show begins with the White Rabbit, expertly playing the violin, drawing in the audience much like the Pied Piper would. Alice, escaping the bustle of the “real” world, follows the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole. This leads to a magical sequence where Alice falls downs the rabbit hole and finds herself in Wonderland.
Following after the White Rabbit, Alice encounters the amazing inhabitants of Wonderland, bringing the audience along for an entertaining evening that had the audience clapping, cheering, laughing and even gasping for breath at times.
One of the first acts in Cirque Alice were a pair of human tumblers, who reminded us of a much more fit and agile versions of Twiddle-dee and Twiddle-dum. One of the acrobats tumbled and turned in the air, thanks to the deft feetwork of his partner. They had the crowd cheering along in amazement.
From this remarkable feat of strength, we were then treated to the supple grace of four contortionists, creating unimaginable forms with the human body.
We loved how the various acts referenced the characters from Alice in Wonderland. Performers dressed up as dancing pink flamingos and chess pieces served as beautiful set pieces for the various aerial acrobats, balancing acts, jugglers and more.
A special mention needs to be made of the casting of the Mad Hatter as the circus clown. He had the audience in his hands, laughing along to his frantic antics.
Cirque Alice is an entertaining show, with Wonderland serving as an amazing backdrop for the performers to wow the audience. Forget about the real world for a couple of hours and follow the White Rabbit and Alice into a world of whimsy and amusement with the madcap cast of characters in Wonderland.
