With outlandish costumes, nostalgic music, and larger-than-life performers, every chindonya show is bound to bring joy and laughter.
Originally a form of street advertising that originated in the Edo period, performers were musicians engaged to promote products in the streets. Unique to chindonya is a three-in-one instrument called the chindon, which is made up of two drums and a gong. Together with another drum, a clarinet, and a saxophone are also used.
Look forward to these traditional Japanese street performances by The Adachi Company!
