The winter solstice is closely linked to tang yuan, the traditional Chinese dessert consisting of glutinous rice shaped into balls with sweets fillings of peanuts, red bean or sesame, and served in a hot soup. Tang yuan is a symbolic Winter Solstice treat that represents reunion and warmth.

One of the highlights of the celebration in Chinatown, in partnership with Grandpa Durian, is where visitors can indulge in limited-edition durian and gula melaka tang yuan.

These are freshly prepared onsite and served at just $2 per bowl with two pieces of tang yuan inside. The special treat offers a meaningful and delicious way for families and friends to embrace the spirit of the season.

You can purchase a ticket online to redeem your tangyuan at the event.

These activities offer a fun and enriching way to discover the stories and artistry passed down through generations.
