Walk down memory lane with your loved ones at Chinatown’s annual Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations this September! Soak in the joyous atmosphere that will bring back nostalgic memories of your childhood, as the streets of the Chinatown precinct are illuminated by a plethora of dazzling and brightly-hued LED lantern displays, guaranteed to leave visitors in wide-eyed wonder.

Lantern Painting Competition

Let the artistic flair in your child shine at Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2017’s Lantern Painting Competition! We invite families and children of all ages to join in this fun-filled competition where you can display your creativity in painting lanterns. The winning lanterns will be displayed along Pagoda Street until 19 October 2017.

Festive Street Bazaar

During the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival, visitors can bask in the festivities, walk along the bustling festive street stalls and shop for festive goodies. Be spoilt for choice as over 300 festival stalls will offer a dazzling variety of festive treats like moon cakes, pomelos, lanterns, handicrafts, tea and more.

Nightly Stage Shows

Catch and be entertained by the animated and dynamic Chinese cultural acts, folk songs, and music and dance numbers by local entertainers and troupes from China.

Be enchanted by the flower-themed decorations of Chinatown as it gets adorned with colourful lanterns of varying shapes and sizes. This year, the splendid lantern display will depict one of the most well-known and beloved hallmarks of the Mid-Autumn Festival – the tradition of carrying lanterns. This year’s StreetLight-Up is also designed in collaboration with the students of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).

Mid-Autumn Family Fest @ Chinatown

A new highlight this year, this will be a melting pot of traditional festive activities such as mooncake-making, calligraphy writing, tea art appreciation, and lantern painting! It promises to be a fun-filled day of bonding and discovery of the meaning and stories behind these traditional activities.

Mass Lantern Walk
1 Oct 2017 (Sunday)

Starting point –KretaAyer Square (Registration location)
End point –Main stage at New Bridge Road
Soak in the festive atmosphere and take part in the annual Mass Lantern Walk! Featuring performances by local clan associations, dragon dance troupes, overseas performing groups, as well as a special dragon dance performance by the troop from Thye Hua Kwan MoralSociety, celebrations will mount to a high at the closing event of the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations 2017.
