In this time, Chinatown will be particularly lively with the annual Festive Bazaar and hundreds of colourful lanterns and dazzling decorations which form part of the Chinatown Chinese New Year Light Up 2019.

Chinatown Chinese New Year Light Up 2019 – Official Opening Ceremony
The Official Light-Up and Opening Ceremony for the Chinatown Chinese New Year Light Up 2019 marks the start of the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2019.
This annual event continues to awe visitors with entertaining performances by both local and overseas performance troupes. Together with a spectacular firecrackers and fireworks display, there’s no better way to welcome the Lunar New Year than at the Official Light-Up and Opening Ceremony.

Street Light-Up
The official Light-Up and Opening Ceremony will then be followed by 6 weeks of street light-up, in and around Chinatown.
The street light-up will feature handmade sculptured lanterns of Pigs, flowers and traditional Chinese New Year greetings.
Combining tradition with modern design, be enthralled by the creativity of Chinatown’s annual street light-up!

Chinatown Chinese New Year 2019 Countdown Party
Usher in the Year of the Pig with live performances and a rousing countdown celebration alongside MediaCorp artistes in the heart of Chinatown.
Make a date with your favourite MediaCorp artistes as they sing, dance, act, and play their way into the Chinese New Year! The Countdown party will be rounded off by a rousing and spectacular display of firecrackers and fireworks at the stroke of midnight!

Festive Street Bazaar
With a variety of stalls lining up the streets of Chinatown, you will get the chance to feast on mouth-watering Chinese New Year delicacies, while admiring the brilliant lights and decorations of the season.
You will be spoilt for choice at the number of vendors selling traditional Chinese New Year goodies such as peanut cookies, pineapple tarts, and hand-rolled love letters. If you’re still looking to deck out your living spaces, there are decorative items, and lucky potted plants for the picking.

Chinatown Point Wishing Tree

Make your Lunar New Year wishes come true at the Chinatown Point Wishing Tree!
Each “Make a Wish” card costs $2, and all proceeds will be donated to the Kreta Ayer Seniors’ Activity Centre.
So head to Chinatown Point to make a wish, and add some festive cheer to the lives of those less fortunate!

Chingay 2019 @ Heartlands
The Chingay parade, the largest annual street performance and float parade in Asia, will return to Chinatown this year, marking the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Expect a vibrant night of special dance performances by local and overseas performers, alongside more than 10 extravagantly decorated floats.
